MANAGING DIRECTOR

Dr. Eveland is a nationally-recognized advocate for business education and improving small business ecosystems. In addition to his work as a university professor, he founded SBC Consulting in the midst of the social unrest and challenging business environment during the pandemic to help small business owners, especially those often underserved, survive. As the founder, TJ provides guidance to SBC’s leadership and helps develop partnerships with entrepreneur support organizations to provide no-cost support to small business owners and improve entrepreneurial ecosystems throughout the country.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Karyn has an MBA, has taught business at the university level, has been part of the creation and sale of multiple small businesses, and successfully owned and operated her own business for nearly a decade. As the Managing Director, she is the project manager for all of SBC’s projects. She works directly with partners to ensure workflow processes are followed, their clients' needs are fulfilled, and collects and returns data to ensure our partners are recognized for their impacts on small business owners.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

As the Executive Director, Kyle is the go-to for organizations that would like to provide specialized consulting services for small businesses. Kyle has a Bachelor’s in Finance and over a decade of experience in the financial industry. He has formed relationships with hundreds of businesses, most of which are small businesses covering diverse backgrounds. He has also started a few of his own businesses with successful exits.

MANAGING CONSULTANT

Darlene has owned and operated her own bakery for nearly a decade and leverages her experiences to help entrepreneurs reach their goals through business planning, identifying new markets, developing and pivoting to in-demand products and services, and growing sales through social and other media. Darlene has an MBA, and her pre-entrepreneur career in higher education gives her the ability to keep clients on task and provide structured advising with demonstrable outcomes.

Denisse is a bilingual professional experienced in helping businesses optimize processes, improve performance, and achieve cost-efficient, and quality-oriented results. With an MBA, a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, and as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, she brings both strategic business acumen and strong foundation in analytical problem-solving to help small businesses thrive. Passionate on supporting business owners in financial literacy, developing business plans, and improving daily operations.
Her fluency in Spanish, also enables her in supporting Hispanic business owners making her a valuable resource for this growing market.

Terrika holds an MBA and is a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. In addition to leading her own bookkeeping service, she has experience in serving customers and clients in private industry and government agencies. Terrika provides advising on bookkeeping for all industries, and specializes in helping small business owners set up, understand, and begin using QuickBooks to further financial literacy and encourage sound financial decisions. Her successful experience in customer service for organizations such as Verizon Wireless and the US Federal Government give her the ability to understand and connect with new QuickBooks users from all populations.

Christy is a dynamic leader with experience and formal education in accounting, QuickBooks, revenue growth, turnaround efforts and small business scaling. She’s an expert in helping businesses grow revenue through scalable systems while maintaining fiscal responsibility and implementing proper accounting practices. Christy has nearly 20 years of small business consulting experience and was a successful small business owner herself. Christy’s successful experience working “in” and “on” small businesses allows her to help entrepreneurs see the systems perspective while improving daily operations and financial accountability.

Latrice holds certifications as a CCA board certified credit consultant, CCA certified credit score consultant, FCRA credit consultant, and a Nav business credit and lending specialist. Meghan has a unique perspective informed by her experience in Fortune 500 companies and her role in leading her own business.

Most recently, she led her own organization to exponential growth through federal, state, and private contracting before successfully selling the organization. Maura provides from-the-trenches guidance to clients looking to grow revenue, enter government and commercial contracting for services, better organize their business to sustain growing operations, and planning for acquisitions of exits.

Leisa has successful entrepreneurial experience in the food service and child care industries. She understands the importance of growing and sustaining revenue in a small business. Leisa helps entrepreneurs identify viable consumer markets and corporate clients and leverage social media and personal selling techniques to reach them. Her skillset also includes helping small business owners understand the importance of monitoring expenses and increasing profitability through responsible growth and budgeting.
